As a
freelance photographer specializing in landscapes I couldn't ask for more. Or
could I?
The landforms are there, in all their rich variety - the waterfalls, the
woodlands, the upland moors, the reservoirs. Sometimes a composition presents
itself just by turning a corner. Who could argue with the graphic shapes of
northern castles and cathedrals? Or fail to be impressed by the sweep of the
sand dunes in the bays of Northumberland? Not forgetting for one moment the
majestic Lakeland peaks.
So what's missing?
Most of the time what's missing is light. It's always there of course (except
when it's dark!) but the light I chase is the type that can transform a subject
from the ordinary to the something special. It doesn't happen that often but
when it does it's worth the wait and the trips that produced little or no
result.
