Yes it's true we don't have portable shower blocks with flushing loo's, we are not a MASH Unit,   but we do have a fine atmosphere on the site regardless of the weather,   there are still some members on the field who have a working life ahead,    before joining the pension brigade.

New members of all colours, creeds,  professions or age groups are welcome to take the association into the millennium,  when the grass won't be any greener but just as comfortable while absorbing the fresh air of the countryside.

A LAKESIDE WEEKEND

August Bank Holiday was approaching, the weatherman promised it would be warm and sunny and we decided it was time to join the N.T.C.A. at Newby Bridge.

Feeling a bit apprehensive, we approached the site across the ford and plank bridge. A group of tents came into view, Dorothy and Bernard greeted us, making us feel at home straight away.

What followed was a very happy and enjoyable weekend. There was a lot to do in the area. We spent a day on the lake, visited Fellside Park and Bobbin Mill.

John’s Sausage Sizzle on Saturday evening got us all together.
A walk on Sunday led by John up to Whitbarrow Scar was well worth the effort and the views were spectacular.

Monday most people departed. We had planned to stay on, but at 5pm a forecast of rain and black clouds looming, we upped tent pegs. As we turned on to the road came the first spots of rain and so it continued all the way home.

Thank you everybody for making us so welcome on our first meeting with you, here's to Next Year.

See you all then.
