Northumberland is most
famous for castles and broad white sandy beaches, but the countryside is
just as breathtaking.
To the North and West
is Border Country where for 300 years the English and Scots fought for
control of the borderlands and Berwick upon Tweed.
Throughout the region
are Castles and Great houses which stand as a testament to its wild
past.

On our
doorstep is The Holy Island of Lindisfarne which has a magical feel as
it is cut off twice daily from the mainland by the tide. Its religious
relevance attracts many visitors - as does its sheer unrivalled beauty
.
Further South is Hadrian's Wall, once
the farthest outcrop of the Roman Empire.
