Located in a quiet corner of Windermere towards
Bowness, Kirkwood is built of traditional Lakeland Stone.

Kirkwood Guest House
in the English Lake District village of Windermere is ideally positioned for exploring the
Cumbrian Lakes.
Kirkwood is situated between Windermere and
Bowness two bustling holiday towns at the north end of Lake Windermere.
Open all year we
provide an ideal base for your Lakeland holiday. Whichever season you should
decide to visit we offer a warm welcome.

Kirkwood Guest House has been a family concern for the
past 16 years, during which we have been recommended in the 'Michelin Guide'
We have also won a Gold Award in the 'WHICH?' Best Bed & Breakfast
Guide.

All rooms are en-suite four of which have four poster
beds. There is also a ground floor bedroom for the not so mobile
guests.
Our home is strictly Non Smoking with a friendly atmosphere offering a
welcome feeling at all times.
Kirkwood's comfortable lounge is always available to relax in with
a welcoming warmth, for the less
clement days
.
We can organise flowers, chocolate and
sparkling wine for those special occasions, prices can vary according to
requirements.

In the morning we offer a full English Breakfast Menu,
also being happy to cater for lighter diets along with vegetarian and other
special requirements.
In the evening there is a vast variety of
restaurants and eating houses nearby in both Windermere and Bowness, as well
many Public Houses offering traditional bar meals with a range of local
brewed beers on offer.

As we
enjoy walking and are lovers of this most beautiful area, we are able to
advise on all aspects of your holiday.
Whatever your
interests, we are here to help you to make the absolute most out of your
holiday. You can go walking along the beach paths, or climbing mountains.
Several famous authors
made the Lake District their home, and their houses are open for the public
to see. Spend a day in ‘Beatrix Potters World’ in Bowness, or why not
see William Wordsworth’s home, ‘Dove Cottage’ in Grasmere.
