the Smithy belonged to the Laird of Edgerston and was the
Blacksmiths Cottage and Forge on his Country Estate. It is now
privately owned by Roy and Glenis who have been providing B&B at Edgerston
for 7 years. and run for the benefit
of their customers to a standard they would expect themselves.

only 4 miles from the Border Frontier at Carter Bar with views overlooking
the Cheviot Hills to the east and far reaching views to the South and North.
A
short walk through the woods reveals a westward panoramic scene where
Buzzards can be heard calling and Deer still wander at will.

The more
adventurous can take advantage of Roy's local walking knowledge and his drop
off and pick up service offering directions and maps to maximise your
pleasure as you explore the Border Countryside.

We have 2
double bedded rooms with private bath on the upper level with full size beds, hot beverage tray, hair dryer and a view of the Cheviot Hills. The cosy
and comfortable lounge has a leather suite and is for the sole use of our
visitors with Sky TV, radio CD player etc.

Glenis
is an excellent cook and needle
woman with samples of her work displayed throughout the house, being
prepared to undertake commissions for individual works during the winter
months with pieces of her work on sale at all times.

Meals are
served in our sumptuously furnished dining room which is full of many
treasures enhancing it as a delightful setting for an evening meal.
Dinner
and Breakfast Menus are available in advance.

Rink Smithy
is ideally situated for day trips to the local border towns of Melrose,
Jedburgh, Hawick, Galashiels, Kelso and historic Coldstream, all
steeped in history with impressive Abbeys and interesting historic buildings.

eastward to the Cheviot Hills and Northumberland's National Park and
coastline with many castles and fishing villages
is a must. Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Newcastle, Hadrian's Wall and Edinburgh
